PREP Coordinator position:

This position will serve as the coordinator of the Planned Re-Entry Program (PREP) and Placement Services, programs designed to support youth transitioning from the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Campus facility to the community. The PREP coordinator will lead the PREP team, which will consist of Social Workers, Family Support Specialists and a number of volunteer mentors/case managers, and work as part of the Focus Forward management Team. The PREP Coordinator will be responsible for implementing all funding requirements including working with the Fresno County Probation Department to develop transitional case plans for youth exiting the system and their families and/or youth being identified for placement services.

Program Coordinator: Education/Employment & Advocacy:

This position will be serving juvenile and adult offenders and in/out-of-school youth at-risk of offending, in Fresno County including high-poverty, high-crime communities, providing them with Employment and Educational Opportunities. The Coordinator will work with community partners, employers and educational institutions to create a bridge of services for participants. This position will facilitate advocacy workshops that focus on reducing negative stigma’s of this population and remove barriers to pathways to Education/Employment for youth who’ve been involved in justice and child welfare systems. This will include research, facilitating, community organizing, communicating the importance of advocacy and civic engagement opportunities and networking with local leaders to education them on the populations (for example, working with CEO to facilitate mission based tours).

AmeriCorps Member: Family Support Aide

Focus Forward currently has an open position for an AmeriCorps member to provide services through our Planned Re-Entry Program as a Family Support Aide.  
This position will begin immediately and is for 1700 total hours  (est. 34 hours a week) through September 15, 2019.  If the selected candidate is not already part of the AmeriCorps program, they must enroll within the first 15 days of service with Focus Forward.  This position is paid a living allowance of about $14,300 for the duration of the term.  An educational award is also provided at the completion of the term.  For more information about the CWS AmeriCorps program, please see the attached documents and visit the CAP Center Website, as well as the listing for this position.
Please note, the selected candidate must attend a week-long training at The CAP Center from October 8th– 12th (9am-4pm) in North Highlands, CA.  The CAP Center covers the cost of the training and hotel. The hotel serves a continental breakfast.  Lunches, dinners, and transportation will not be covered.
